For May's instalment of Geushky 2018 Ian Void brings you a unique talent from Colorado U.S.A.
Introducing Stefan Weise - Born in Italy, Stefan grew up in a musical household and has been DJing and producing for over 20 years. While his father was a DJ in Italy, Stefan spent his early years listening to underground electronic music, Funk, Soul, Motown, Disco and Acid House. His music is heavily influenced by the Detroit and Amsterdam Techno sound. A nerd at heart, Science Fiction and Science also inform his sound and vision of the future. Stefan has been the host of the monthly 'Blue Industries' show on Proton Radio for over a decade and has had a fill of releases in recent years including a stint on the seminal Lucidflow Records imprint, as well as a remix for the legendary King Street Sounds. In 2017, Stefan founded his own label 3km, which has received worldwide support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Vince Watson, Mariel Ito and more.
Analog Orgy is a really unique track, futuristic yet retro in its approach, the fun yet serious synth line weaves through some serious Chi-influenced beats and results in a pretty unique take on modern techno.
Geushky is always looking to bend the rules when it comes to the releases and this fitted the bill perfectly. back in the day the like of Dave Angel would be all over this. I suspect this will end many a might techno set now.
Aleph Zero sees some chugging rhythms and mild tribalistic techno rhythms intertwine with some time-shifting bass and atmospherics, truly individual stuff and the track justifies a full play to experience the talent of Mr. Weise.
On remix duty Ian is luck enough to have drafted in dutch talent and supreme master Oliver Kucera. Oliver really needs no introduction but his work on labels such as Naked Lunch, Djax Up Beats, Contradiction and Gobsmacked should speak for itself. Oliver strips back the bones to give us a bottom ended minimal monster, not for the weak willed, this is heads down drilling at its finest.
