Purveyor of funky grooves and deep vibes, Ollie S. debuts on Piston with the fantastic Wellness EP. Ollie has been positively influenced by his father as a funk bass player, his excitement for different music genres including Funk, Jazz & Disco, has been prominent since his childhood. As a teenager he bought a set of turntables and started with Turntablism just for fun. A few years later his excitement for Dance Music and DJing has grown and now he wants to get into producing. He started producing Minimal Techno before moving through other styles to House music where his originality shines. Marked by deep and clear bass lines, driving drums and colourful accents, his productions are meant to be listened to everywhere, no matter whether it is in the bathroom or on the dance floor. Delighted to have him on board.

First up we have the title track - Wellness, which delivers a smooth deep house groove full of warmth and intrigue. A tight drum arrangement gets the rhythm moving nicely before a short break brings in warming chords and swirling pads. The beat comes back with a dancey bassline in tow, forcing us to move with its infectious groove. The main break reveals cool club vocals and more of those mesmeric pads and chords before we head back into full on mode for the duration. Excellent stuff that will not disappoint.

Flash dishes out a tight deep house groove filled with deep chords and a solid probing bassline. A beautifully arranged drum section get the feet tapping as short funky riffs peek out. The bassline captivates and hypnotizes as it weaves through the sound alongside those warm chords. The break adds in distant vocals as a surreal sequence takes hold up to the returning beats and back into full swing. A definite must for the early morning after party or the main event.
