Darkrow & Jesus Galan are Spanish DJ’s and producers who began releasing music together in 2017. They are both prolific artists in their own right, but this was the year they forged thier collaborative releases on Kinetica Records, Low Groove and other cool labels. We are very happy to have them on board for a new EP on DPE with three deep minimal cuts of the finest quality.
‘Theory’ is the title track of the EP and it is a deep, bouncing, minimal groover. Impactful drum grooves are melded with industrial sounds, deep subs and percussive clicks to form a brooding club track. ‘Theory’ is a true roller and an immersive trip for the coolest dancefloors around.
Following up is ‘Caboco’ where the collaborative duo have opted for a deep, tech roller with low-slung grooves and a tribal-edged vibe. Swinging organic percussion and sparkling shakers dance above a pushing low end and a haunting jungle soundscape. This is a truly captivating record that conveys an enveloping atmosphere that transports you to another place entirely.
Closing out the EP is ‘Slow Wind’ which takes a more upbeat tech house approach to proceedings, while still maintaining the understated demeanor of the rest of the EP. Dusty shakers and tribal percussion grooves ride atop an atmospheric layer that gives great depth to the composition. A well sculpted arrangement creates moments of tension and release which are aided through slick use of FX and memorably quirky instrumentation.
