One of the most productive artists from the South African Surreal Sounds collective, namely Collen Cohen, returns with his most extensive project to date. The 10-track "Void" is a conceptual body of instrumental works that takes the listener on an easy free-flowing 80 minute ebb & lo flow journey of deep moody synth-laden soundscapes. Almost a spiritual experience in its run, this introspective is oozing with deep house ethereal works that never go past 122 bpm. From the soft tones of "A Ystalite Cave" to the dulcet pumps of the Apollo mix of "Venus," to the livelier "Yog Sothoth," that was featured on the #1 Dopewax Approved: Kenny Dope and Friends comp, these will put the listener into a happy meditative state. You can hear the intricacies of the melodies and basslines so expertly arranged throughout. When asked about the concept behind the collection, Collen states, "I felt a huge Void for happiness and freedom which are the most important things." His music helps fill that void.
