Joyfull Family is made up of 3 like-minded Italian DJ's and producers, Cristian Carpentieri, Guido Nemola and Chico Perulli and they return to Piston with the superb Mediterraneo. Ten years ago these guys got together to create underground tracks and house remixes. Their 2005 hit - Da Breaker got plenty of airtime, notably through gaining top spot on various European charts including Pete Tong's Essential Selection. They went on to remix for international stars like Corrina Joseph and Shawn Christopher as well as a remix for Cajmere and Dajae's Brighter Days. Their last outing - Keep On Dubbin' EP - from Summer 2017 gained great support and we've no doubt this one will follow suit.

Mediterraneo intros with a firm, thumping kick drum and slicing hi hat combi before a super deep walking bassline comes through to get the booty shaking. The bassline is king here as it dominates with its mood altering note changes. Accompanying the bass we find a rising pad full of rich textures and a melancholic vibe which makes for a sublime and contrasting piece of music. A seriously mesmerizing cut that will not disappoint.

Pamphlet delivers a cool drum filled sequence on the intro which is soon joined by a punchy kick drum that gets the rhythmic juices flowing nicely. An eerie, deep analogue style bass breaks through while warming chords come in to provide a comforting groove. Cool vocals deliver an interesting narrative as the deep, sultry groove intensifies. One for the late night party crew, a definite must have.
