Popular South African DJ and producer Josi Chavé has come out guns blazing and drums beating against gender-based violence with his latest hit titled Baleka.

Featuring the sultry Thandi Draai on vocals and SAMA nominated producer DJ Cuebur. Baleka was inspired by the current unfortunate circumstances in our country, with the sudden rise of domestic violence; female murders; abduction and rape in our country, that has had a negative impact in our society.

Baleka is a light hearted awareness and educational song using various musical elements as the voice of expression.

"The track has an uptempo afro beat with live guitar and keyboard elements, mixing the latest drum sounds with instruments and vocals that touch the soul," said Josi Chavé, also known to those close to him as Josias Matsebatlela.

"It's a song with a message that speaks to social issues and an opportunity for us as local artists to showcase our talents to the masses."

The DJ from YFM believes future musical success relies heavily on unity and Baleka is the first of many collaborative singles he'll be releasing as a build up to his upcoming 2018 album.
