Groundwerk Recordings label head Joel West debuts with a moody and musical 120bpm deep-tech single, supported by remixes from Iain Howie (Rhombus, SOSO, Be Free Recordings, East Van Digital) and The GOAT (Groundwerk Recordings, Techno.Black, Substation Recordings, Flat Belly White, Re: Define Records, Straight Up!, Major League).
Joel West’s original hits heavy with driving percussion and moody stabs, delivers beauty with the entrance of the Rhodes & organ call-and-answer, and culminates in a hauntingly powerful groove after the drop.
Iain Howie’s highly textured remix takes us to a deep house festival stage in the open air, with a breakdown and drop at once patient, gigantic, and maturely delivered. Iain Howie is one to watch.
