Joran van Pol quickly follows up the impressive inaugural release on his own new
FADE label with a second sizzling offering. It features more of his techno originals
with a remix from Egbert that boosts an already solid package.

This new project from van Pol comes after amassing a fine discography with releases on labels like Minus, Rejected, Sci+Tec and Ideal Audio. As such he has the support of all of Techno’s big hitters who often reach for his tunes and as a DJ he is just as in demand, with headline slots everywhere from Space Ibiza to TimeWarp all behind him.

Things kick off in stern fashion with the rock solid ‘Awakening’, a supple techno roller with industrial sound designs, desolate synth landscapes and unsettling white noise and muffled voices all urging you to dance. Dutchman Egbert from labels like Cocoon and Gem then steps up and unhinges the track by layering in nervy pads and urgent synth lines that wrap the whole thing up in a fine sense of tension.

The standout ‘Catalyst’ is the other great offering from van Pol, a beautifully bleak
and sleek number with gurgling bass synths, driving drums and flashes of thunder
and lightening that really add drama to the whole experience. A suspenseful and
deep track ‘Denial’ is a bonus Spotify inclusion and Beatport also get an exclusive in the form of a soundscape tool version of Awakening.
This is dark but detailed modern techno and marks a splendid second outing for
FADE.
