When casting a weary eye towards the impending chill of winter, it's important to remember that the choice of company kept can greatly affect the way in which one wiles away the long gray hours. In this case, we didn't even need to look further than our own backyard. Enter deep techno masons, Donor/Truss. Made up of Greg Schappert of Brooklyn and Tom Russell of Wales, their collective efforts have seeped into the consciousness of world class DJs, producers and fans of uncompromising techno music through releases on Synewave, Miniscule, Dilek, and Dumb Unit. With this, their first EP on Thema, they have begun expanding their signature sound. The heady claustrophobia we've come to know and love has opened up just enough, spurring a graceful and startling evolution. We also would like to say that we're very happy that Thema's first release for the year 2010 is, in part, from local NYC-based talent. Mr Schappert has been a big supporter of this label for quite sometime and to have him and Tom step onboard is just about the best way we can think of to start the New Year. The future is here, welcome 2010.
