After their successful “Swayer EP” release on BCBtec the dynamic duo Franksen & Tom Wax are rewinding their very own house approach, again drawing on a variety of influences for their second BCBtec release. No wonder, since both of them work as DJs, producers and radio hosts. Tom Wax is part of the BigCityBeats radio family, Franksen hosts Germany’s eldest DJ radioshow, the legendary YOU FM Cubnight.

Over the last year they spread their word between Deep House and Tech House with a couple of releases on influential labels all over the globe, from Coyu’s Spanish imprint “Suara Showroom” to US Deephouse legend’s Miguel Migs’ label “Salted” to Gorge’s “Katchuli”, “Dieb.Audio”, “Plastic City” or – up n coming – two releases for M.In’s “Komm Mit Musik”.

The guy’s are on fire to bring tooltime functionality as much as song-like arrangement finery. As techno-legend Tom Wax’ roots are worldwide known, Franksen claims the housevibe finally making their new BCBtec EP another ride through the styles in… style!

“Swooosh” is the little monster here. A bassline so infectiously funky and disco-esque yet menacingly set in a surrounding of ever rising pads that keep you on your feet for quite a while grooving towards relief. A tune with two faces.

“Back 2 Time” broadcasts its musical message on an old school tip. Lifting you up with cool percussions on a straight and driving beat, adding some saxy samples and vox that hammer home the message of this shaking tool.

B2 – as some say in general – is the hidden gem on this release. “Takin Up The Pace” is doin’ just what it promises by title. 122 bpm ‘slow’, we have rarely heard a tune develop such drive! The smiles of the dancers as this track proceeds is clearly guaranteed. Test their pace, come on!
