Lisbon label Sombra's sophomore release comes from Italian producer, DJ and label-founder Plukkk. These five, heavy cuts are bold in representing the label's dark, industrial techno with a contemporary vision. The three original tracks are a perfect reflection of Plukkk's flair for warehouse techno and drone inspired soundscapes.
'K012' showcases utter dancefloor destruction while 'Sequence #41' shows a delicate yet pungent ambient sensibility. Lastly, the digital bonus track 'Hunting' brings forward a broken and distorted take on modern, pulsating rhythms.
British producer Manni Dee brings his reputed brand of sculpted, hypnotic techno to 'k012', while Italian veteran Ness further refines Plukkk's second original by constructing a detailed roller of equal elegance and potency.
The five tracks are packed with energy, placing the listener in the centre of a ravaged rave scene where speakers emanate enough tension to create a new era of devoted dancing.
With previous releases on Obscuur Recordings and his own imprint IMPETO, Plukkk keeps the flame alive for the pounding, obscure rhythms of Portugal's founded Sombra.
