Benjamin Smithson aka Ben Remember is a man on the rise right now. Having already had his works signed to taste making labels such as Toolroom, the Bristol native continues his ascent here on the flourishing Grin Recordings imprint thanks to the brilliant strands of the Show Me EP. A collaboration with vocalist Bex Jackson, it sees Remember flex his musical muscles in esteemed fashion, as he concocts an original that’s been created with the most discerning floors in mind.

Opening up the package is the sounds of the title track, ‘Show Me’. A summer-themed banger of some distinction, the track gets underway thanks to a relatively stringent tech-house beat which works as the spine of the anthem. Later on, the sweeping strings and the cascading synths rear their head, which alongside Jackson’s sultry vocal contribution, make for a potent party-starter of the type that’s sure to help elevate your set to higher planes. Full of mystery and Balearic hues, this one is drenched in Ibiza appeal.

The remix comes at us from August Five, who wonderfully captures the essence of the original whilst still putting his own stamp on it. The London producer has already earned plaudits aplenty thanks to a wide body of work that’s already encompassed the likes of 303Lovers, Play Records and Hach, and his comeback to the Grin Recordings fold is proof indeed that he’s another man set for big things. Serious house heads are sure to fall in love with this one - and with good reason too.

Catch both Ben Remember and August Five at the Grin Recording's label party on the 15th May at Lightbox in London alongside Tim Cullen, Made By Pete and special guest Olivier Giacomotto! For tickets and info click here.
