LOCO DICE has transcended (but not forgotten) the hip hop world where his music career began well over a decade ago, rising to top billed performances and productions in the quickly developing/exploding German hip hop scene of the mid-1990?s. As a DJ with open ears and gusto, he shifted into house music by building closer relationships with friends in dance music circles. That is, house with a musical-meets-moody mix of sexy, tribal, trippy and bass-guided deep down sound.
His output from the studio reflects the terrace open-air freeness from his DJ sets, a place where the party (and time) is stretched out and stripped-down as the music can be. With production partner Martin Buttrich, the labels that showcase their releases are the crème of the crop, from Four:Twenty, Superstar, Ovum and Cocoon. His DJ residencies at Dusseldorf?s Tribehouse, Ibiza?s DC-10 and frequent international touring has made his past few years on stage increasingly uplifting too.
