SUUU / Tide

White Collar Boy

Bodytonic Music
BTONIC001 | 2013-10-21
Bodytonic Music is the new record label from those rascals in Dublin called ...errr Bodytonic . The same chancers behind Dublin clubbing institution the Twisted Pepper, boozer the Bernard Shaw, Raver Cottage , the Beatyard, Doortonic, Scribble Records, POGO Recordings, Kormac's Big Band and plenty more random and nonsensical things, this label has been started to create a home for all those variations in one record label. So expect no two releases to sound the same, or anything in general to overly make much sense - it will all be made up as it goes along.
The first release on the label is the debut EP by White Collar Boy. White Collar Boy are a two piece electronic-garage group from Dublin. Mark Cummins (the ginger one) and Gavin White (the-not-so-ginger one) met in Barcelona where their shared passion for electronic composition (and knitting) inevitably led the pair to merge their creative endeavors.
'SUUU / Tide ' comes fresh with remixes from Twisted Pepper resident Frank B (he of "Chain of Fools" fame) and Simon Bird. It drops on wax on Oct 7th and Digital on Oct 21st. You need this record.

What they say about 'SUUU/Tide': 'Track of the month for October 2013' - DJ Mag 'This track is a sweet one, quickly progressing through various stages while maintaining its composure at a steady pace, first with Gemma's intro on the beat, bass that steps up the welcome and a spangled synth sound.' - The Line Of Best Fit 'Frank's remix features thudding beats and sprightly synth lines in a hypnotic five minutes, reminscent of an dancefloor edit of AFX or The Orb to my ears. Lovely track' - Nialler 9 'A mixing pot of 90s-esque house vocals and stripped back grooves which lean more towards the pair's strength as a live act than have their previous releases.' - The Ransom Note 'The emotive vocals of Dunleavy are restrained, allowing the words to effortlessly melt into the waves of scintillating beats and deep bass groove. The song's lyric of "I'm ready for you" towards the close sees a glorious rise in the sound clouds, as the stars illuminate the night's skies.' - Mark Carry, Fractured Air 'SUUU is a sweet one, quickly progressing through various stages while maintaining its composure at a steady pace, first with Gemma's intro on the beat, bass that steps up the welcome and a spangled synth sound.' - Nay McArdle, Harmless Noise
