Vancouver based and cosmos born collective The Slow Waves are releasing their latest EP titled 'Need Luv' this April. Along with fellow artists CRAM and Dragon Suplex they've cooked up some serious heat - spread the love!
The short player takes off with 'Another Lover', a light yet flavor packed entrée containing the bands characteristic crystalline sound. A set of dreamy instrumentation is seasoned with distant background vocals, making this starter perfect for sunny days out in the open.
For their second piece 'Need Luv' The Slow Waves take a calm approach by utilizing soothing ocean sounds, thus pertaining to their alias in an audio-metaphorical sense. Things gradually become more energetic as the track advances: Well placed synths pair up with a clean 'Double You' sample, resulting in a catchy and highly danceable anthem of positivity.
Dragon Suplex steps in with a refreshing interpretation of this EP's introduction. The Zurich natives playfully chop up the effect-marinated vocals beyond recognition, while a sharpened kick drum underlines this reptile's airy sound.
CRAM's spin on 'Another Lover' finds the Canadian original coated in retro vibes. While staying true to the first-hand vocal cuts the mind behind 'Compose You A Tune' throws in dark synth notes, providing us with a major 80's throwback... break out that white!
