For their 14th release Under No Illusion turn to 20 year old Fraser Stuart and offer up his production debut. Fraser is the current resident at Glasgow's So Loco as as well as making moves into Ibiza’s underground scene where he will spend his second summer in 2014. The Voices EP has all the characteristics of a seasoned producer so for this being a debut release it really is outstanding work.
The EP kicks off with lead track Voices , a real percussion led tech house groover that layers a twisted vocal over a jacked up baseline , this track will sit well with the fans of both jacking and tech house.
Techno heavyweight and Sci-tec regular Matt Sasarri takes on remix duties of Voices and turn’s in an epic journey through all things dark and melodic . utilizing the original vocal matt warps us through a moody and ultra cool set of cut up FX breaking the track to the bare bones before releasing an almighty kick back baseline. With releases also on Ron Costa’s Potobolo as well as Bitten and Panterre Musique, Under No Illusion certainly have pulled an emerging star in here on the remix.
The second track No Escape sees Fraser take things to a more deeper Techno audience , with full emphasis on building a solid foundation and letting the music talk . Percussion and rhythms are all solid and tight with an added vocal FX lead.
No Escape gets two solid remixes to complete the package with UNI enlisting manchester’s H2 & Marseilles Stephen Macias to do the business.
H2 go straight for the main room jugular using the main vocal hook and wrapping it around a killer baseline and old school delayed sample. This mix will go down particularly well in the big clubs in ibiza like Sankeys and Space and will find its way into all the big tech house dj’s sets.
