MDMA brings together both interpretations of the collaboration between Vincenzo Facino & Scott Sutter, presenting a focused exploration of hypnotic minimal techno rooted in raw hardware, repetition and controlled evolution.
The Release includes the Original Mix and the Slo Rise Mix, two complementary versions built on the same structural foundation while offering distinct sonic perspectives.
The Original Mix establishes the core identity of MDMA: a looping xylophone sequence generated with the Syncussion, pitch-sequenced to function as a circular, mantra-like motif, surrounded by a dense square-wave acid bassline shaped through evolving filter movements and resonances. Stripped-down drums, anchored by a solid 909 kick and minimal percussive elements, create a functional and immersive framework designed for deep afterhours settings.
The SLO RISE Mix preserves the same arrangement and hypnotic flow, expanding the sound palette with additional Theremin lines and an extra acid synth, introducing greater spatial depth and melodic tension while maintaining strict minimal discipline. Subtle variations and textural movement give this version a more expansive and atmospheric character, ideal for extended sets and late-night transitions.
MDMA is conceived for dark rooms, long nights and listeners who value restraint, repetition and nuance over immediacy.
