Asymmetric head Inigo Kennedy returns to his label with a first-class five track EP 'Welfare Syntax'.

'Nuts And Bolts' kicks off the release in functional style; a solid kick, undulating organ-like stabs and skittering hats blending in seductive balance. Next up is 'Totality', a steady foreground rising and falling, set to a four-to-the-floor beat and joined by optimistic tones and playful percussion. Centering the release is 'Subterfuge', an altogether edgier proposition; jittery shards introduce the track before the bass shifts up a gear and kick strengthens. Title track 'Welfare Syntax' follows; a classic Kennedy combination of optimism and melancholy, sounds growing and fading through the track and set against a driving beat. Bringing the release to a close is 'Yorukage', taking things deeper and slinkier and oozing with menace and an addictive charm.
