Audhentik makes a welcome return to Greyscale's CD series with his third full-length album, Experio. This record expands on his dub techno roots with a more atmospheric, cinematic scope. This project unfolds like a story, blending deeply processed textures with shorter ambient interludes that act as sonic vignettes. The result sounds like it is part of an unknown movie soundtrack. The opener, 'Jitter', eases the listener in with a purely ambient prelude, establishing the expansive, space-conscious sound world to come. 'Night Rush' follows with airy chords and a faint organic undercurrent, before 'Snowcaps' paints a picture of scenic vistas, light percussion dancing atop a rolling groove. Tracks like 'P-23 Dub' and 'Quasar Dub' are brief yet striking interludes with the latter evoking intercepted radio signals from distant galaxies. The centerpiece, 'Granular Ocean' featuring Basicnoise, lives up to its evocative title: a weighty, rolling bassline underpins an aquatic and otherworldly soundscape.
