Fhase 87 aka François Denecker opens his account on Ben Sims’ Symbolism imprint with the strident five-track ‘Minimalism’ EP.
Paying homage to the classic Techno-minimalism of Robert Hood, Calais-based Fhase 87 has constructed each track on ‘Minimalism’ with layering in mind, stating that ‘I wanted to return to the origins of my influences, the spirit of the 90s. High BPM Techno, like the DJ sets that I managed to get hold of on audio tape during my adolescence, before the internet era, “No Build Up” tracks, ideal for mixing with several decks.’
