The lady behind Annex is the rather talented, to say the least, Ann Hairston - a cast member of Stomp, a musician specialising in drums who also composes and produces. Now, that's what I call having the credentials to do a tribal track. 'The Bazaar' sees Annex go from multi-instrumentalist to utter mentalist in a totally twisted eight 'n' half minutes of mind boggling dub. 4 (Floor Filler) -- Dean Thatcher, 7 Update, 11 September 2002 A monolithic slice of tribal house from multi-instrumentalist Ann Hairston. Layers of punishing percussion and dark swooping textures combine to create a fresh take on a familiar sound, while the flip's dub takes things down a notch allowing some melodic hooks to come to the fore. 4/5 -- Will Boulton, iDJ, October 2002 Written and producer by Ann Hairston.
