Say What?
SAWH217 | 2025-06-27
We are back with release number 217 featuring Hatewax and Muza.

Let’s start off with the title track 'Aristotle' and channels introspection through a relentless groove. The track builds on philosophical tension, pairing rolling low-end energy with intricate drum programming and subtle filter sweeps. There's a cerebral quality in its progression: layers unfold like arguments in a dialectic, with each percussive stab and metallic echo pulling the listener deeper into a trance of logic and rhythm.

Next up on the release is 'Boilerpoint' a deep, industrial groove that steadily morphs into a full-body workout. Stuttering percussion patterns and a thick, rubbery bassline keep the pressure locked while warped atmospheres pulse in the background, creating a sense of imminent release, but never gives it up entirely keeping dancers in a hypnotic state of suspense.

The third track on the release 'Eratosthene' is a nod to the ancient mathematician, built for the dancers. The groove here is tighter, more compact, and driven by syncopated low-end pulses and a maze of shuffled hi-hats. Hazy synth textures drift in and out of the mix like ghost signals from a long-lost satellite.

Last on the EP 'Plastamax' brings a raw and gritty flavour. Saturated drum hits and a morphing sequence of synth stabs create a plastified, futuristic atmosphere. This techno as weaponry barrels forward with purpose, leaving a trail of melted plastic and burning rubber behind. An intense closer designed to flip the energy and leave the crowd craving more.
