'Avela the 1st' is an international music producer, musician, and recording engineer with a natural ear for music. He prides himself in Authenticity, keeping it real, staying true to your sound and connecting with your Art and expressing your true emotions through music.
He practically grew up in a religious home as a first-born son of a strong black women and a single parent. However, he grew strong and street smart because of the streets of Soweto that practically moulded him to the man he is today.
Avela's love for music began when he was just a child: from recording on Cassettes and spending nights near the Radio trying to catch that late-Night House mix on Radio.
In 2023, Avela the 1st started to share his music with the world and released his music on Bandcamp. He's sound has been growing and getting better on every release. He has worked with International Artists, the likes of Kini Sullivan West (Washington DC) and Bugs Nasty. He has also collaborated with various local Artists.
The previous Project 'Shongololo EP'
Shongolo or Millipedes is a worm connected to his cultural roots and clan; he is the first-born child of the late Musawenkosi Bhengu. The 'Shongololo EP' is more like an official introduction to who he really is and revealing his beliefs and roots.
Dear Son (album)
On this project/Album 'Avela the 1st' dove deep in his thoughts and highlighted his honest view of Life and how to move with Wisdom. The first track 'Dear Son' is not necessarily directed to his son as he has no children but it’s more like a metaphor, the message or the tips are for everyone as we are all born of man so that makes us all someone's 'son'. The album has several languages since he's South African born he will indulge in all his national languages including Sotho, Xhosa, English, Zulu and Tsonga.
On the last two tracks he also touches a little bit on the American history and the previous struggles of his black American brothers and sisters and hopes everyone can heal from the past wounds. We are all human and we all have the God given right to Life and Equality.
