After releasing a single on Insomnius Music in 2023, Section 63 now returns with his first 4-track EP, ‘Corrosive,’ on the label. The producer stays true to his distinctive sound, delivering technoid-inspired drum & bass that is pushing forward with full force: intense, dark, and minimalist.

Section 63's futuristic, dark style has its roots in the breakbeat hardcore scene of the early '90s, heavily influenced by London’s pirate radio stations. As a co-founder of The Sect, he played a key role in shaping the techno-influenced drum & bass sound that dominated the 2000s. Today, the producer and DJ continues his musical journey as a solo artist, having established himself as a reliable creator of multi-layered, high-energy tracks, with releases on labels like Mute:8, Subtrakt, and VIA. With ‘Corrosive,’ he delivers a bold statement, perfectly capturing his vision of techstep.

The EP opens with ‘Obey,’ a driving track that generates an energetic vibe through relentless percussion and an intense atmosphere. The track transports listeners to a dystopian future where machines and humanity collide. ‘Synthetic’ follows with a minimalist, mechanical sound, crafted from distorted cymbals and synthetic elements, conjuring a cold, futuristic landscape reminiscent of a steel-built, high-tech metropolis. In ‘Corrosive,’ tension builds with an acid line and a psychedelic pattern, pulling the audience into a euphoric spiral–a journey of transformation and renewal. The final track, ‘Light Work,’ delivers a haunting, cinematic mood with eerie sound design and a driving bassline, creating a dark, cinematic atmosphere between hope and decay.
