Wuthichai, also known as DJ Shaky, has significantly influenced Chiang Mai's music scene in Northern Thailand. As a pioneer in integrating traditional folk music with modern international styles, he has introduced a distinctive sound to the region. His recent work has focused on a signature down-tempo blend of breakbeat funk, drum and bass, and experimental electronic music.

Good Bye EP., Talking About Peaceful, was born from the profound grief he experienced after losing several close friends at a young age. More recently, he released an LP titled Bai Mai Wai, meaning The Story of My Hometown. This album captures the essence of his journey through the mountains of Nepal and Thailand, blending the voices of tribes, indigenous communities, and musicians he encountered along the way into a rich and immersive soundscape.

Wuthichai's debut EP. draws inspiration from The Heritage & Hope: 150 Years of the First Church of Chiang Mai, a historical compilation of records documenting the journey of American missionaries who brought Christianity to northern Thailand over a century and a half ago. He was also deeply influenced by the field recordings of traditional Lanna music captured by Gerald P. Dyck, an American ethnomusicologist and volunteer teacher in Chiang Mai between 1967 and 1971.

This EP. seamlessly weaves the essence of Lanna music with electronic melodies, creating a nostalgic and contemporary soundscape.

'Good Bye' is dedicated to his beloved and friends who passed away prematurely.

'Wan Mai' tells the story of Miss Mary Margaretta Campbell, a missionary devoted to teaching in Chiang Mai. She tragically lost her life during her travels more than 150 years ago. Her dedication and sacrifice later inspired generations of American women to follow in her footsteps as volunteer teachers in Thailand.

'Twilight' composed in 2001, is inspired by the sounds of cicadas and other creatures echoing through his backyard. The song captures the quiet transition between day and night, a moment of rest for those who have labored through the day and the awakening of life for those who embrace the night.
