A portion of proceeds from the sale of this release will be donated to the LA Fire Department Foundation to aid in California's wildfire relief efforts.
At the start of the new year, Los Angeles faced devastating wildfires that scorched vast acres of land, thousands of homes, and forced widespread evacuations. Fueled by dry vegetation and relentless winds, the infernos have inflicted extensive damage to infrastructure and destroyed the livelihoods of countless innocent people. Firefighters have been battling the blazes nonstop with no end in sight, leaving the city to grapple with losses estimated in the billions. As of the time of this writing, the fires continue to rage on, with recovery efforts expected to span several months, if not years.
Even amidst such adversity, the creative spirit and resilience of the City of Angels endures. The 114th release on Darin Epsilon's esteemed imprint features two familiar names and industry veterans from the community. Los Angeles native Randy Seidman has been a prominent figure in electronic music for nearly two decades. Since emerging on the scene in 2007, he was named "Breakthrough DJ/Producer of the Year" by Israeli duo Infected Mushroom in DJ Mag's Top 100 poll. His stellar production career boasts a series of 24-carat gold hits across esteemed labels such as Miss Monique's Siona Records, Desert Hearts Black, and Outta Limits, among many others.
Perspectives Digital has played a significant role in Randy's artistic journey, featuring his original works like December 2020's "On It" with French artist Da Fresh, and February 2024's "Falling" with rising German star, Michael Ritter. Returning now with a third original offering, Randy joins forces with the accomplished singer/songwriter, Cari Golden. The celebrated US lyricist and vocalist has lent her distinctive talents to releases on Stil Vor Talent, Defected, and Global Underground, collaborating with industry giants such as CamelPhat, Maceo Plex, Groove Armada, and Pan-Pot.
Making their collaborative debut in 2025, "Don't Say" is a gloriously smooth and emotive affair. Shimmering motifs and an analog-inspired lead pave the way for Cari's vocals to take center stage. Passionate and heartfelt, her lyrics weave in and out of Randy Seidman's powerful production work with its repeated message of contrition implicit in the title. A strong beat, upfront off-beat hats and dramatic snare/clap rolls add to the club-friendly energy in a track that is certain to fill dancefloors the world over.
Adding their unique touch to the release, the prolific German duo Rauschhaus and Peer Kusiv have proven their studio expertise time and time again with over 750 production credits between them for the likes of Katermukke, Einmusika, Zerothree, Steyoyoke, Poesie Musik, and their very own Forevermore. No stranger to Perspectives, Rauschhaus has delivered a trio of remixes dating since 2020, taking on the likes of Juan Pablo Torrez, Far Distance, and Cary Crank.
With Peer making his label debut, the Rauschhaus and Peer Kusiv remix of "Don't Say" is a typically dynamic affair, opening with a rich bass pattern and deep metronomic kick. Full of driving percussive intent courtesy of rapid-fire hi-hats, a searing, crystalline lead plays out a melodic theme resonant in the original mix. Dropping into an atmospheric breakdown where textured pads are the perfect vehicle to carry Cari Golden's vocal phrasing, the second half is transformed with a stuttered and innovative bass pattern that pitches and falls with superb variation. Hitting its stride once more, familiar melodies and vocal lines come to the fore in the final stages, culminating in a fresh, memorable interpretation that's certain to resonate with audiences everywhere.
