We warmly welcome Teakup to W133, presenting his EP "Circuloid" [W133D007]. The Ohio-based artist, who previously had appearances on eg. is / was, 17 Steps, Homage NY and Shut Off Notice, gifts us with five beautifully crafted originals.
Starting off with the EP’s title track „Circuloid“ he creates a humble and soothing atmosphere. The track makes you feel like you've lifted off the ground, and the resonance keeps you floating.
For number two, we rumble into "Gravity Blanket“, a tech-house wobbler with driving bass work and later on dreamy pads.
Next, it gets a little freaky with „Stumbling"—stunning effects and the occasional creepy sound create a spooky atmosphere.
The fourth number, "Unconventional Warfare“, is a resonator-driven marching tool. It moves forward with steady energy and introduces an uplifting arpeggiated melody line, leaving us in a happy yet curious mood.
Last but not least, Teakup amazes us with „Doing“, a nasty technoid stomper with acid-driven synth shots and dubby delayed stabs, which perfectly closes out the EP.
