Time and distance collapse in this album, which draws on traditions of sharing that go back hundreds of years. The melodies we create are rooted in a deep past: it is a music of primitive essence and nameless nostalgia, full of electronic frequencies that seem to touch a nostalgia, an ancient pain in our lives. In our identity that is never totally Canadian, nor totally foreign.

The collaboration of artists Firas Nassri and Sasha Theodora was born in 2020 out of conversations about the similarities we felt in the experience of our respective cultural identities and upbringings. While exchanging about our lives as immigrants, Firas having immigrated from Syria at a young age and Sasha's family being of Ukrainian descent, we realized that there was much to deconstruct in order to better understand what we carry within us subliminally.

The intention of the project is to propose innovative music, where electronic music and folk songs meet to guide the listener on an immersive journey of identity reappropriation. By reappropriating the music and stories of our ancestors, we create music that reflects our own identity within our respective cultures.
