UMF005 | 2024-11-22
Katatonic Silentio signs the fifth release on UMF.

Middle Ages opens with seemingly dark and melancholic atmospheres, where the heavily processed electric guitar becomes the beating heart of the whole soundscape. Every note vibrates through metallic reverberations and abrasive distortions, as if the sound itself was decomposed and reconstructed by machinery. The tones are sharp, but not cold. Electronic instruments, including synthetic drones and rhythmic glitches, weave a dense, layered sound, alternating between moments of fragile stillness and sudden bursts of noise. Each track seems to represent a clash between humanity and technology, where melodies slowly disappear in a sea of feedback and noise, leaving room for an abstract but deeply emotional sound world.

The album is a sensory experience, a journey between roughness and beauty, where the tension between analogue and digital sound turns into a cry of disillusionment, but also of resistance.
