For the first release of our label, we present the Isi Audi Chuca EP. The 'Chuca' hook was created by Isi Audi on the way to a gig in Pachuca. He felt it was something special but hadn't yet named the project. He decided to cut the word in half, and 'Chuca' was born. At the time, Isi Audi was listening to a lot of Italo disco but also wanted to incorporate percussive vocals influenced by his downtempo background.
As for the remixes, the Dori Club Mix is a collaboration between Isi Audi and Dori Sadovnick, one of his favorite producers and a friend from Tel Aviv. Dori was staying with Isi during the winter of 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. After listening to the original track, they worked together to create a club-focused version.
The next remix is by Mufti, whom Isi Audi met at Panorama Bar this summer while the DJ duo 'Zombies in Miami,' friends from Mexico, were performing. They had an in-depth conversation about how artists in Mexico don't collaborate or support each other enough, which weakens the local scene. This led Isi to invite Mufti to collaborate on the EP, resulting in a powerful remix of the track.
For the EP's artwork, during a visit to his favorite pizza spot in New York this summer, Isi Audi was introduced to Victor Reese by a mutual friend. Victor showed his stunning art and shared a phrase that deeply resonated with us: 'If we're not here to create beautiful things, then what are we here for?' He described his style as edgy but elegant, and from that moment, we knew he had to be in charge of the label's artwork.
