The second full release for Gary Dodds on The Freebooter Lounge. Bringing his unique, blissful and dreamy sound back to the camp with Considerations. Therarelowry takes on the remix duties and what a beautiful job.
With a musical journey spanning two decades, Gary Dodds is a Belfast-based DJ and producer deeply rooted in the city's eclectic music scene. His passion for music has led him on a diverse sonic exploration, encompassing genres like house, techno, breaks, drum and bass and the soothing realms of chillout. A founding member of the Manhattan Project collective, Doddz held a 2.5 year residence radio show on River Radio, sharing carefully curated sounds that resonate with the country's nightlife. He has now left the Manhattan Project for a new creative project named Oscillate, launching in July. During the lockdown, Gary turned his creative energies towards music production. In the studio, he has crafted a musical signature that reflects his deep love for electronic music.
After hearing the sample/quote it was clearly a remix that had to be done by David aka therarelowry.
therarelowry's musical journey began in the late 80s/90s alternative rock milieu of East Antrim. After moving to Glasgow in the mid-nineties his musical interests broadened. He attended and was influenced by various legendary club nights in the city including Slam @ the Arches, PURE, Sub Club, 69 in Paisley and their record store Rubadub records. On returning to Belfast he was involved in the early days of Takeover Records at the start of the millennium. Fast forward another 10 years and a track called Nightshift is completed. After sending a CDR to Andrew Weatherall, and pretty much forgetting about it – it started to appear in Weatherall's legendary A Love From Outer Space sets. The track remained a feature in countless more Weatherall sets and found favour with many other like-minded Djs – resulting in the Nightshift 12" which was released in 2015 on Kinfolk records. Since then, therarelowry aka David has continued to mine his texturally rich, emotive and stoic sound - mostly via his own Bandcamp releases as well as some remix work – including returning to rework tracks for Takeover Recordings - Black Sea Project and a forthcoming track Oceanic Dream by Dublin duo Being Sarah.
