South Korean electronic musician Paul Yoon, now Deepyoon, is releasing his debut driving techno EP, "Uncanniness", on Plazma Records. Inspired by an abandoned hospital in his hometown, the EP features dark, spatial ambient sounds with hypnotic arpeggios, metaphysical bass synths, and powerful, heavy beats. The dissonant synths and sharp hi-hats in "Uncanniness" and "Abandoned Place" reflect the hospitals eerie visuals. "Cryptid" imagines unknown creatures, while "Blood Moon," inspired by a 2022 red moon, uses metal plate sounds mimicking a human voice. To finish it of, Maxerface's remix adds an innovative twist to the title track. Maxerface's remix reinterprets the title track, adding gritty, restless machine-like rhythms and an elevated tone.
