Bastien first appeared on our radar in 2016 thanks to "Balance," his slow-burning dubby collab with Crespo on NY's Nervous Records (think Weatherall chug at its finest). Since then, he has released music on influential imprints like Lapsus, Moan and Moodfunk. Over the past few years, we have been back and forth with the Ecuadorian producer as he looked to secure a spot on the GU roster. Finally, this year, we struck gold with this inspired idea for a rework. All through the '00s, we were huge QOTSA fans, but we never had them as ideal candidates for a cheeky remix. Bastien put that idea to the sword when he paired their 2007 festival anthem with a chunky house beat and sent it to Kevin McKay as a potential collab. For Kevin, who had 'Songs For The Deaf' on repeat while he was setting up the Mylo project, this was a no-brainer. He invited Simon Ellis to record the vocals and stripped Bastien's track back to the bare essentials, creating an instant Ibiza-style anthem. A proper summer sizzler!
