M. Vaughan announces the 'Keep in Touch EP', a new record that finds the respected US-bred, EU-based producer moving away from the club and towards the emotional indie rock of his roots.

The Lisbon via New York artist M. Vaughan grew up playing in Indie Rock bands before spending a decade crafting Electronic music. His productions on labels like Freerange, Monologues, and his own Super Tuff Records fused warped synthesizers and raw percussion into a fresh take on house music, earning praise from top publications like Resident Advisor and DJ Mag, and support from top DJs like Axel Boman and Laurent Garnier. In 2021, looking to capitalize on his early successes, he relocated to Berlin (“the Mecca of Dance music"). Once there, surrounded by all-black-clad stoic ravers, Vaughan felt deeply out of place and grew detached from the dance music world. This foreign-ness drew him closer to the familiar, early inspirations from back home like The Microphones, Mark Kozelek, and Alex G. Stepping out in a new musical direction, he stopped DJing, put his label on hiatusm and began to work on new material that would eventually become June 14th's 'Keep in Touch' EP.

The lead single, “Tire Swing," was written during this time in Berlin. Welling up from feelings of disconnection—its soaring vocals, glistening piano, and rhythmic intensity hint at a new sense of excitement and proudly stride into a new musical self-discovery.

After relocating to Lisbon in 2023, Vaughan continued to experiment with his sound, merging elements of his club music foundations with influences from genre-bending acts like Mount Kimbie, Tirzah, and Blood Orange.

Utilizing his vocals, synths, and drum machines, Keep in Touch narrates the process of building a home away from home, each song bouncing from emotional highs and lows. Vaughan explores angst and longing on “Nazaré," reckons with the strange ease of being happy on “All Good," and pines for home on “Cold Read." Taken together, the songs offer a diary of an artist in metaphorsis and resonate with Vaughan's trademark authentic, hooky, and effortless sound. 'Keep in Touch' is Vaughan's full-circle musical coda, a portrait of an artist with his heartache hanging out, stepping into the uncertain one more time.
