Can you believe it's been over three years since our first Dabeull release in 2010, when the Parisian talkbox hero broke onto the Nu-Disco scene with his mind blowing 'Freaky Show EP'. Three years on and the follow-up 'Breakaway' is finally here... and boy was it worth the wait!
Breakaway is everything you'd expect... a delicate, harmonized piece of nu-romantic synthesis soul, meaningful and concise, as Dabeull pours his heart into his machines, telling a story of the yearning and heart-ache for his one-love.
On the remix tip we have Aussie up-comers 'The Manuel Portio' who soul things out with an almost late 80s 'Teddy Riley Swing Beat-esque' excursion, complete with a wonderful octave paced bassline and gorgeous dreamy pads.
And lastly we have Mullet label boss 'Casio Social Club' who dust off their trusty old Linndrum machine and go all Paisley Park Prince on your asses. Upping the tempo to 118bpm, whilst rocking-out the heavenly detuned 8bit crunchy sounds to devastating CSC Electro-Funk effect.
This release isn't necessarily for the club dancefloors but is still a side to the industry we love to support... why? Because it's just great music... and that my friends, is what it's all about!
