TFT is multimedia artist Stephen McLaughlin’s silo for his techno productions .
His other work as An Trinse tends to be conceptually intricate whereas TFT is aimed straight at the dance floor [even if it’s a slightly sticky, off kilter one]. Tracks are constructed quickly and recorded live, presented with minimal editing. Often the pieces languish on tapes for years at a time and when rediscovered there is barely a recollection of their creation. The conceptual nature raises its head occasionally but it's kept opaque and mysterious whether the listener is aware or not.

He also is a visual artist who has worked extensively on the festival and club circuit. Maxwell Sterling is a regular collaborator and the pair have created a live show together which has been hosted by festivals such as Mira and Semibreve. He has also developed an AV show for the An Trinse project and created work for Jeff Mills’ Axis label.
