At first, Places EP was meant to be a carelessly drafted sketchbook of rough ideas and moods, quickly assembled and avoiding polishing or overthinking. But then it kept changing, getting scrapped, tweaked and tuned, with lots of bumps and turns. Borka's trip finally comes to its end. Or has it just begun?
The EP takes one on a beats journey to imaginary places around the globe. It mixes and layers samples which seem to have been forgotten yet are somehow so familiar. These are detailed soundscapes tucked ambiguously between reverie and head-noddin'.
Borka claims the Places EP reflects on how the human mind molds experiences into extremely subjective constructs. Memories define how we tackle with the realities of the present, but these paradoxically couldn't be further away from objectivity. These are the places and spaces this collection of musical postcards made from some mangled memories swing about.
"Memories in the corner of my mind
Flashbacks, I was laughin' all the time"
