The Analog Session is a music project conceived in February 2009 by Maurizio Dami (aka Alexander Robotnick) and Lapo Lombardi aka Ludus Pinsky
Initially only a video project, it then became also an album and finally a live performance.
The first album has been released by This Is Music ltd as CD/DVD
This is the second album
It is electronic music played on vintage instruments , mostly improvised in the 70s style but with a strong hint to modern techno-music. The first video-clips made by the two artists in 2009 have had more than 100.000 views on Youtube with consistently enthustiastic feedback.
In April 2012 Alexander Robotnick and Ludus Pinsky organize a new session in A.R.'s new studio.
Ludus.Pinsky.'s modular synth has by now grown bigger and includes many more circuits and filters. The session is based on the 2 artists' usual and peculiar ingredients: a couple of written sequences for each track and the rest is left to improvisation. The process results in 4 new works recorded on 24 tracks, all of them produced using exclusively the material recorded during improvisation as it appears on the videos released on You Tube and Vimeo.
4 more tracks coming from previous sessions have been added to the album.
A genuine Vintage sound, an improvisation attitude in the 70s style and a modern production : this is what The Analog Session is about.
