Unrilis continues its Rilis series with a raw and dystopian techno release by Kusserow.
Rino Cerrone is an Italian techno icon who launched Unrilis before his retirement from the music industry. Rilis is an iconic series of classic releases that Rino Cerrone use to experiment with new ideas and it received critical acclaim from techno fans around the world.
Decades later, Rilis has been relaunched to showcase artists that share Rino Cerrone's passion and mentality for producing techno. In recent months the revitalised series has featured new music by A.Paul, DJ Dextro, Samuel L Session and Ritzi Lee.
Kusserow is the new alias of Frank Kusserow who is a veteran producer from Frankfurt, Germany. He is making his debut as part of the Rilis series, following a previous release on record labels such as DJ Hell's International Deejay Gigolo Records, White Noise, as well as his own imprints Nanogramme and Milligramme. He has been releasing music for over a decade and during that time has picked up DJ support by people ranging from Sven Vaeth to Dave Clarke.
'The Nightwalker' opens the release with analogue synth stabs and fast-paced percussion to create a hypnotic groove. 'Acid Formation' is a dark and stripped back track with a chunky acid bassline layered underneath flickering percussion. 'Quasar 618' is a trippy track with eerie tension and distorted sound design that's underpinned by a pounding kick drum. 'Dub Reason Pt.2' is a deep and dubby track that closes out the EP with a subdued change of pace.
