Knowledge Imprint is proud to welcome another young talent to the roster. Hailing from the UK, FLAWS is fairly new to the scene, but he has already begun cementing himself with a clear vision, purpose and artistic integrity. His passion for music is evident not only though his own productions and DJ sets, but also through his labels that he runs with his likeminded counterparts.

‘Cosmology’ introduces the EP with dubby textures, dark moods and a chugging rhythm that carries the listener through shades of loopy techno. Subtle percussive shifts are synchronised with a repeating bass stab that gives the track a sense of galloping, forward movement. ‘Principle’ on the other hand is a lesson in restraint. A simple loop comprising of a kick drum and melodic digital percussion repeats throughout, whilst a running white noise hi-hat provides rhythmic diversity in the arrangement. Elegant and minimalistic, the track encourages introspection but could be equally functional for dancefloor moments.

‘Code’ employs slower tempos to drag you into its depths, this track evokes darker moods with somber pads ebbing and flowing throughout. Similarly, the track’s repetitive nature is countered with hi-hats that spontaneously expand and contract. ‘Structure’ closes the EP with a sense of optimism and release. It’s punchy drums and rhythmic variations are layered with lush pads that sway in and out of an arpeggiated synth melody.

‘The true art of living in harmony with the earth, fellow humans and the universe is an idea that should be observed with delicate attention. We could have a chance to broaden our nature to understand more clearly what reality consists of.’
