"The name 'Desolate' is a reflection of the music, in a sense of capturing the feeling of standing in a rocky desert and feeling the power of openness. A strong visual that also inspired the music was the way rocky plains and a desert can have such a harmonious pairing. Rough ragged edges and a sense of nothingness and pure open nature is a great representation of how the music sounds." - Amraks

Eternally introspective, Amraks joins our scatterbrained eclective.

Teasing an unobtrusive break, This That sees snares provide suppressed sonic swells amid an enveloping brassy drone. Repitched organics deliver accompanying depth, giving way to a destructive, paint-peeling peak. Harnessing subdued sustain, a distortion-fuelled bass noise assumes command, dragging its offsiders along the rocky desert floor.

A soulful execution of a spirited vision, Symmetry explores the sweeping expanses of our arid wilderness. Coordinated reverbs round raw highs, with a singular striking loop serving to scintillate. Drifting atop a tranquil plain, ducked tails of dripping vocals complement an ever-inviting synth array, with a sliding pad nurturing a supporting chord groove and arpeggiated centrepiece. An emotional masterclass in spatial harmony.

Its additive layers augmenting its bleak optimism, Every Thing To Me represents a shifting tone. Tremulous single-shot keys protrude by design, working with a recurrent phrase and distinct drum pattern to evoke intended poignance. A hallmark across productions, a signature reese-reminiscent drone carries a stepper beat forward, meeting a dancing top synth en route to a dusty terminus.

Desolate steps left-of-centre, leaning on quaint soundscapes and resampled vocals for respite from an energetic, rumbling foundation. Employing a restrained broken rhythm to coincide with a four/four surge, a gritty midbass trades a barren centre stage with a dynamic arpeggio, narrowing to a cut square signal before progressing to crux.

Prompting an horizonal crane, Collect charges the fissured floor below. When isolated, a charismatic hook and piano chords sparkle with aural beauty, only to be corrupted by an abrasive breakbeat and relentless arp at the fore, kicking dirt toward the blue above. Contradictory signals meld together, fuelling a galloping, rhythmic inferno atop a cracked plateau. Artisan exploitation of sound.
