For 宀's second release, the Hong Kong label debuts local DJ/Producer, Xiaolin, with her first EP. Echoing a third culture upbringing, the EP spirals down Xiaolin's journey of internal-discovery. She layers together a plethora of nostalgic influences from retro video games, Lunar New Year and mountain trails. Formally a classically-trained violinist, Xiaolin has bloomed in the electronic music scene with her rich technical toolkit and meticulous sound design.

The punchy four track EP, MIHN002, lifts off with a 140BPM electro/breakbeat track, LANTERNS. Made with mostly analogue gear, the driving baseline persist down a continues tunnel while soaring melodies and romantic chords fly overhead. To wind down the release there's an ambient mix of LANTERNS, diving into Xiaolin's intimate side with personal recordings of nature; a fire crackling in the distance and soft running waterfalls.

Xiaolin's sensitivity draws a bold line through the EP while giving each track the depth and precision to stand alone. LION DANCE bounces into dance floor euphoria with dynamic acid lines and stabs of festive percussion. While, GHOSTRIDER is a speedy race through cosmic space; ethereal pads of ecstasy cut through the great beyond with hopeful notes of adventure.
