Black Seven frontmen Dave and Mike, A.K.A BRODYR, return to their spiritual home for a long-awaited legacy release this summer. Giving us a slice of the foundational elements of one of Tech House’s fastest-rising labels, the Welsh duo turns in a trio of tracks built around a bed of cadent rhythms and sophisticated musicality.

‘Label Magic’ gets things moving with a core of punchy drums, swinging hat grooves and subtly layered percussion. Its racy bassline adds even more movement to the mix whilst an array of synths orbit the track alongside an introspective vocal.

‘Give A Dub’ comes next, bringing a unique late-night feel from the outset. Gently jackin’ drum work and shuffling hat sequences sit alongside a chorus of rich synth lines, vivid organ licks, rippling vox cuts and a catchy bassline melody.

‘No Sugar’ completes the release in true BSM fashion with a nostalgic twist. A certified big-room roller from the start, its driving low-frequency components are dusted off with copious instrumental flair and arpeggiating tones from beginning to end, whilst a cleverly worked vocal topline adds an undeniable air of familiarity.
