The Niceguys deliver more new music on Bombstrikes, building upon support from the likes of Ana Matronic (BBC Radio 2) and Birdee that they picked up on their last release. Once again the focus is high production values with twists of disco and funk-fuelled energy coupled with strong vocal performances. 'Thrill' features the neo-soul vocals of Leo Napier, who is no stranger to working with the Swiss outfit, as well as such luminaries as Griz, The Funk Hunters, and Gramatik. The Niceguys capture energy and emotion in a perfect musical bed of guitar hooks, keys and bass while allowing Leo's killer vocal to shine. The original version is also expertly complemented by a remix from Glasgow's Disco dons Shaka Loves You. The duo add funk guitar licks to filtered bass grooves and organs, creating some serious dance floor heat while retaining the song's essence. Outstanding work all around.
