Raining Love

Mr Raoul K

Passionate about building bridges between past and present electronic music influences, Frappé is back with a fifth EP named "Afrodisique" . Keeping in mind that contemporary electronic dance music finds its origins in the sound of african and afro-american communities, this new record is the missing link between world famous artists of the "Afro House" genre and the French productions of the early 00s. The record also clearly states the love affair between the label and the genre, which never fails to bring out the spirit of the dance.

The much charismatic Floyd Lavine comes up with "Creda Mutwa" a very unique, powerful, dancefloor-orientated Afro Acid track. This one fits the artist's musical identity, which is a mix between South Africa where he comes from, and Berlin where he lives and has founded the RISE club nights (at club Watergate) which have redefined the afro house sound in recent years.

Mr Raoul K, yet another emblematic face of the genre, has given "Raining love" to Frappé, for the label to bring special care to this deep and enchanting track. Coming from the artist and Balafon player's back catalogue, this track has been given a new master for "Afrodisiaque" and will for the first time be pressed on vinyl.

Saudade is a new and very talented offspring of the new French scene, who had explored the electronical coming from Brazil last year on his "Xango" EP. He comes back to it for Frappé with "Bougarabou", a precisely crafted and club-sounding tune, bursting with warm percussions and jazz chords.

Skillfully playing on the more classic codes of Afro House with blowing horns and bouncing percussions is Ten Fingerz and his « Blow da Conga » track, a fast, sharp and frighteningly danceable number.

Basile de Suresnes finally delivers « Bastoss AfroK47 », a one of a kind and raw-sounding tune, which mixes machine noises and swinging percs, A turntable-tailored track.

Frappé will have the great honor to introduce its new EP at a release party that will take place at the emblematic Djoon club on October 16th, with Floyd Lavine and Saudade as headliners. Basile de Suresnes and Ten Fingerz, the label co-founders, will keep them company at the decks.
