Manchester powerhouse trio Mason Collective has taken the scene by storm since 2018, collecting a decent streak of releases on top-notch labels in quite a short time, including Saved, Do Not Sleep, Play It Say It, and their own Whippin. They now make their Tamango Records debut with 'External Instrument' EP, which also marks the return of label-boss Yaya on the remix duties.

The main original is a blend of pure Mason vibes, with pointed kicks that set the tempo, beating impetuous between catchy congas and eager whispers in a progressive unfolding of elements. Nevertheless, Yaya turns his version into an even harder dancefloor stomper by letting you in the jungle with a wild bassline and deadly open hats. Up next, titled 'Find Friends' fuses playful synths, chunky percussive rhythms with an enjoyable vocal sample for the ultimate summer-mood tool, letting 'Naija Boi' round off the EP in style thanks to a thunderous low-end area, extra-sharp drums, and Mason's distinctive pinch of craziness.
