Gusher returns to Piston Recordings with the superb, Riazor EP. Based in Venezuela, DJ and producer Gustavo Herrera follows his 206 debut, Circadian Rhythm with this three tracker. He first got into dance music at age 14 when he bought Daft Punk's Homework. Four years later he became a DJ before moving into the production world where he has churned out an impressive release count. Great to see him back here and we hope to see more in the future.

Riazor opens the release, setting the scene with a tight, deep house groover. Strong beats join a plucky analogue bassline and shuffling hat combo, while mesmerizing pads expertly crafted FX create a stunning atmosphere. Fanku is up next with a more experimental, trippy sounding piece. Influenced by the hybrid deep-disco-house sound of the mid to late nineties, this one is a sure-fire dancefloor mover to keep the party rocking. Attica rounds out the EP with a deep, lush vibe. Punchy beats and plucky basses create a smooth groove as warm chords fill the spectrum alongside flurries of rhythmic percussions. Top-notch stuff indeed.
