‘Digital Entity’ takes place in a world where the value of software-based objects challenge the status quo of a physical and tangible reality. Stepping up to lead the set, ‘Guardians’ is built on a solid 4x4 foundation of heft and punch, giving a platform for the fluttering percussion and buoyant synth tones before an immersive Motor City-inspired melody bursts forth.

‘Apparition’ takes the melodramatic tone further basing its focus on an melody that intones insistently over galloping drums being pushed along by arppegiated and at times squiggly leads.

‘Digital Entity’ opens with saturated and widescreen synths before punchy, driven kicks and snares skip along to start, before a resonant synth melody that dances in and out of time sets the stage for the bassbin-rattling subs to complete the picture.

Kevin McHugh on Valence Studios in Brooklyn once again puts the finishing touches mastering Ike Velez’ writing and production.
