As its title suggests, Elninodiablo’s second solo effort the ‘Dreamweaving’ EP is an invitation to weigh anchor and drift off to upper, lusher spheres of consciousness. Recorded in his home studio in Berlin during the first lockdown in April 2020, this EP is the yin to the yang of the darker hues of ShadowPlay that was released in January. The illustration of the EP artwork once again comes courtesy of Tobias Jacobsen: https://www.tobiasjacobsen.net

Warmed up via slo-moving tides of verbed-out textures and sun-bleached envelopes hinting at classic BoC'ian electronica, ‘Dorothea’s Rainbow’ eases us in a brightly hued daze of sorts right away. Through an ethereally evocative knit of languid, brass and piano-strewn house programming, subtly inlaid field recordings and otherworldly, soulful choirs, the opening cut sets the tone for the cross-dimensional trip ahead in fine hypnagogic style.
‘Dorothea’s Rainbow’ comes with a beautifully shot analogue video by Adam Munnings (https://www.adammunnings.com) that can be viewed here: https://vimeo.com/505909309/39c2f37bf3 (password: rainbow)

The nocturnal 'D-Louche’ beams us up to a pattern-shifting playground of skittish percussion, owl song samples, primitive drums, muted voices and spooky melodies fluttering like spirits in the ether. The result translates to a highly sensual, near-ectoplasmic audio cruise in the woods at midnight - the sturdy bass, lo-velocity riffs and brass stabs making for a balanced palette of contrasting elements to the track’s overall deep organic feel.

Final fourteen-minute plus slab ‘Dithering Heights’ extrapolates a more world-weary, sense-searching urban vibe at first, soon gliding onto serene glades through crystalline cascades of processed drums, field recordings, abstract subs and proper mind-expanding synth tapestries to lose yourself in.
