In 06' and '07 Canadian producer and dj Micah Lukasewich launched Ruhnsong Recordings to some much appreciated acclaim and support on all 4 releases including Micah's own "Epidemic" and Microcosm", Baltic Sound's "Glimmer" and the highly sought after remixes of Slackers seminal "Psychout". After a long hiatus, Ruhnsong Recordings returns with a fresh new sound and a line up of new talent and established artists.
RUHN005 starts off with a bang with Micah's longtime friend and dj partner Chris LaPietra (aka LaPIETRA) displaying his new monster tune: "Killah". With remixes from Micah himself, Chloe Harris and Andrew Cox and 2 mixes from local Calgary dj's "Jay Klos" and "Chad Hardcastle". This release is broad in spectrum and is surely to be found in many varied dj's cd wallets this WMC.
The Original mix is strong from the start and has already rocked many floors in Chris's hometown, full of energy and oomph, this techy monster is soaked in class and will surely please every floor it finds.
Micah's mix fuses the techiness of the original with Micah's signature underground house vibe. With more melody then the original, this mix is surely one to please the progressive house heads out there in clubland.
As expected, the Chloe Harris and Andrew Cox mix goes dark and deep while maintaining a charged energy which has become this dynamic duo's signature sound, a must have for those smokey late nights.
Jason Klos takes us straight into the "hands in the air" vibe with his rendition of "Killah". A little bit tribal, a little bit tech, this mix is a whole lot of fun.
Chad Hardcastle goes straight for the jugular with immense stabs and sparse melodic vibe, another floor pleasing progressive beast."
